DENVER, Sept. 17, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Dedicated to providing growth pathways for high school educators, Colorado State University Global (CSU Global) is launching coursework for dual enrollment in a new specialization: Business and Marketing. Enrollment for the specialization is open now for the Winter A term start, November 16, 2026.
Consulting with Colorado school district partners, CSU Global identified and designed the new specialization to help educators expand their career opportunities. High school teachers who enroll and earn graduate credits gain credentials to teach college-level courses to their students.
In today’s evolving educational landscape, K-12 teacher engagement and retention is critical. Offering pathways to professional development, such as dual enrollment, serves as a valuable resource for school and district leadership.
Educators who enroll in this specialization receive the following benefits:
- Credential Eligibility: Learners who complete 18 graduate-level credits in their subject area become fully credentialed to teach dual-enrollment courses in their high schools.
- Stackable Degrees: All 18 credits can be applied directly toward a Master’s Degree in Teaching and Learning (or leadership pathways like Principal Licensure).
- Professional Growth: Learners will expand their expertise while earning higher-level teaching credentials.
- Student Impact: Learners can help their high school students earn transferable college credits directly in their classroom. This gives students a head start on college, saves families money on tuition, and increases academic engagement.
This specialization was created with guidance from CSU Global partner Douglas County School District (DCSD). The coursework was designed utilizing feedback from DCSD and their learnings on the most needed upskilling opportunities for teachers and students.
“School districts and teachers are facing new challenges every day, and our job is to listen to what they need,” said Dr. Audra Spicer, Interim President and CEO of CSU Global. “We designed these specializations to achieve real-world impact and help educators elevate their teaching and advance their careers, on a schedule that actually works for them.”
The Business and Marketing K-12 specialization courses include: Creating and Implementing Marketing Strategies, Strategically Leading Human Resources, Financial Accounting and Reporting, Digital Storytelling, Data-Driven Decision Making, and SEM and SEO Marketing. The university also offers dual enrollment courses in English, Math, and History. CSU Global centers all its programs around work-ready assignments and industry tools that equip students to excel in their fields.
CSU Global’s fully online learning environment enables students to complete coursework around their busy schedules and to access learning support tools from anywhere in the world with an internet connection.
