Twin Home Experts Rodent Control brings its radar-equipped Rat Rover to Coeur d’Alene, searching the crawl spaces and attics where North Idaho mice move in each fall.

When the nights turn cold in North Idaho, the mice that spent the summer in shops, woodsheds and barns go looking for the warmest building on the property, and that is usually the house. Twin Home Rodent Control has added the Twins Rat Rover to its Coeur d’Alene offices, giving its North Idaho team a compact inspection rover built for the tight spaces where those mice settle in.

Homes in the region give rodents plenty of places to hide. Log and timber-frame construction, daylight basements, crawl spaces and detached shops all have gaps and voids that are hard for a technician to search by hand. Cabins and second homes can sit empty and unheated all winter with no one there to hear anything. And deer mice, the most common culprit here, carry hantavirus, so finding the nesting areas and cleaning them up properly matters.

“This compact inspection rover lets us explore tight spaces humans can’t reach,” said Jim Schuelke, co-owner of Twin Home Experts. “Its radar technology is designed to help detect live rodent activity behind walls and identify potential nesting sites.”

Once the rover helps pinpoint activity in an attic or crawl space, technicians can set traps overnight and retrieve them the next morning. It works alongside the company’s camera monitoring and its practice of sealing entry points before trapping begins. The twins plan to share what the rover turns up on their Twin Home Experts YouTube channel, where more than 600,000 subscribers follow their rodent jobs.

Homeowners in Coeur d’Alene, Post Falls, Hayden and Sandpoint who are hearing scratching in the walls or overhead can learn more about rodent control in Coeur d’Alene from the Twin Home team. Owners of acreage, cabins and lake property can find the company’s Cougar Gulch office, which handles rodent control in Kootenai County outside of town.
