Working with Texas A&M University’s Dr. Jörg Steiner, Nutramax gave young researchers a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
LANCASTER, S.C., Nov. 4, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Nutramax Laboratories, Inc. sponsored five young scientists to attend the 75th Lindau Nobel Laureate Meeting in Lindau, Germany, this summer, contributing $50,000 to make the trip possible. The sponsorship grew out of the company’s relationship with Dr. Jörg Steiner, Regents Professor and University Distinguished Professor at the Texas A&M University School of Veterinary Medicine & Biomedical Sciences and director of its Gastrointestinal Laboratory.
Held every year since 1951, the Lindau Nobel Laureate Meetings bring Nobel Laureates together with students and early-career researchers from around the world for a week of open dialogue and scientific exchange. Young scientists are selected through a multistage nomination and application process. The 75th meeting was an interdisciplinary anniversary edition that brought together around 75 Nobel Laureates and more than 600 young scientists from more than 100 countries.
Nutramax sponsored two young scientists in 2025, bringing its total to seven participants. Each sponsorship covered a preparatory meeting at Texas A&M University and attendance at the meeting in Lindau, Germany.
“Dr. Steiner has spent his career investing in the people who will carry veterinary science forward, and I’m one of the many who have learned from him,” said Dr. Todd Henderson, president and CEO of Nutramax Laboratories. “When he told us about the chance to put promising young researchers in the same room as Nobel Laureates, we wanted to be part of it. A week like this comes along once in a career, and we’re proud to help these students get there.”
“Sitting across the table from a Nobel Laureate changes the way a young scientist sees their own work and what they believe is possible,” Steiner said. “They come home with new ideas, new colleagues around the world, and a lot more confidence in where their research can go. Nutramax has made that experience possible for seven of them over the past two years, and I’m grateful for the company’s commitment to the next generation of scientists.”
The Lindau sponsorship reflects Nutramax’s support for scientific education and for the researchers who will shape the future of animal and human health.
